MAXIMUS MERIDIUS broke in at the start filling the space left vacant by YO YO CANDY, raced three then four wide just off the duel, advanced on those rivals to vie briefly before taking command near the five-sixteenths, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, shook away to a clear lead a furlong out, dug in under lone threat and was overthrown just inside the sixteenth pole, kept on clear of the rest to the finish to be along second best. ELIMINATE broke in at the start bumping PROPRIETARY TRADE, chased along the inside detached at the tail of the field, came under urging three furlongs from home, went eight wide into upper stretch and offered up late foot outside to secure the show honors. MISSION BEACH chased just off the inside down the backstretch and then along the inside through the turn coming under coaxing at the three-eighths, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and kicked on belatedly to the finish. AUGUSTINE RED chased three then two wide coming under coaxing at the three-eighths, angled five wide into upper stretch and improved position by tired foes. YO YO CANDY struck the near side stall at the start getting away near the rear of the field, chased just off the inside and then along the inside coming under coaxing at the three-eighths, swung three wide for home and weakened. PROPRIETARY TRADE got bumped at the start by ELIMINATE, chased three then four wide down the backstretch before going five wide through the turn coaxed along from the three-eighths, swung six wide into upper stretch and weakened in the final furlong. RIDGEWOOD RUNNER coaxed from the gate, chased four to five wide down the backstretch and then three wide through the turn coaxed along from three furlongs out, went nine wide into upper stretch and tired. CLASSIC JOKE broke out at the start, dueled inside of SHEA D WORLD from the five furlong marker, came under coaxing floating just off the inside at the three-eighths, yielded the front in tandem with his main pace rival near the five-sixteenths, swung five to six wide into upper stretch fading and faltered in the drive. SHEA D WORLD coaxed from the gate, showed the way briefly alone on the front before being engaged in head to head combat by the aforementioned foe, dueled two then three wide down the backstretch to the midway point on the turn when overtaken as a pair by the runner up, retreated and went six to seven wide into upper stretch, folded, and was eased home through the final eighth.
