Chart notes
HELMS DEEP sped to the early lead, opened up on the backstretch, was kept far off the inner rail in the stretch and prevailed under urging. BOBBY G , pinched back leaving the starting gate, trailed to the far turn, was three wide entering the stretch, angled in near the eighth pole and rallied. FORTUNE'S FOOL , a forward factor three wide around the far turn, gave way in the drive. CAERUS lost ground on the turns and gave way. TRASH TALKIN LARRY raced along the inner rail down the backstretch, was caught in tight quarters inside ALIFEROUS entering the far turn then dropped back. ALIFEROUS bore out leaving the starting gate, raced in a forward position in the two path down the backstretch, came in when taking a misstep entering the far turn, was pulled up in upper stretch and walked off. There was a stewards' inquiry concerning the run entering the far turn but no action was taken.
