Chart notes
DONTIM broke out a step at the start and bothered a neighboring rival, tracked the early pace from the second flight, rushed up nearing the half-mile marker and vied for the lead at that station, contested the decent pace with WINNING LOVER into the turn, took command at the quarter pole and shook free into upper stretch, was kept to task while leading into the final sixteenth, was all out to hold off the runner-up in deep stretch and determinedly lasted for the win at the wire. FORD FLYER chased the decent early pace from the second flight, was well placed approaching the turn and ran in pursuit three to four wide nearing the quarter marker, ran evenly to mid-stretch then rallied into the final sixteenth, surged in the final strides and just missed for the win, while besting the rest. WINNING LOVER hustled for the early lead, assumed command and set the pace approaching the half-mile marker, was engaged by DONTIM at that station and contested decent fractions with that runner into the turn, dueled along the bend and lost ground to DONTIM at the quarter marker, chased into the stretch and fought on into the final sixteenth, could not keep match strides with the top pair in deep stretch and held safely in the end for third. LISA'S DOCTOR S prominent away from the start, raced close up to decent early pace while between runners, maintained a two wide path into the turn and chased the pace while between rivals nearing the quarter marker, lost ground while running on the left lead at mid-stretch, switched leads effectively into the final sixteenth but could not muster a late response. LET THETRUTHBETOLD was crowded at the start and broke slowly, was allowed to settle in the early stages while not far back, chased four wide into the turn, needed more in the stretch drive and offered a mild late rally. MR. DUFF took back off of the decent early pace, saved ground into the turn and trailed nearing the quarter pole, lacked a response in the stretch drive and did not factor. FLYING OZZI broke awkwardly at the start and was away a bit slowly, rushed up in the early going and tracked the decent pace from the inside, saved ground into the turn and was well placed nearing the quarter marker, lost ground into the stretch and tired in the final stages.
