CAMPFIRE CREED drifted outwardly at the start, settled back and reserved ground close behind the dueling leaders while three wide, then dug in gamely at the top of the stretch to edge clear in the final yards prevailing in the end. SPEIGHT AND MALICE was bumped by ERNIE BANKER shortly after the start, then dueled with said rival into the turn, was bumped again in the upper stretch, but kept on then was out finished by CAMPFIRE CREED from the outside and was up for second place. ERNIE BANKER drifted out shortly after the start and bumped SPEIGHT AND MALICE, dueled with said foe down the backstretch and throughout the turn, lugged out and bumped again, was surpassed by CAMPFIRE CREED in the late stretch and missed the place position in the end.
