BRIAN'S DE LEIGHT away alertly and vied for the lead while racing out from the rail entering the backstretch, set a pressured pace from the inside of SLOOP JOHN B in the run down the backside and into the final turn, held a narrow advantage into the lane, and held off a late bid by TIME TICKER to prevail. TIME TICKER tracked the leaders in the run down the backstretch while saving ground at the rail, rallied smartly through the final turn while continuing to save ground, and closed determinedly from along the rail in the drive to just miss. DESIRED OUTCOME stalked the leaders into the backstretch at the back of a compact field, launched his bid one out from the rail entering the final turn, and closed willingly two wide in the drive to get up for a share. SLOOP JOHN B broke sharply and dueled for the lead three wide into the backstretch, forced the issue from the outside of BRIAN'S DE LEIGHT in the run down the backside and through the final turn, but was outfinished in the stretch drive. LOGICAL AL tracked the dueling leaders into the backstretch while racing two out from the rail, rallied three wide entering the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response when called upon. PRINCE CAIRO away well and tracked the contested early pace while racing two wide from between rivals in the run down the backstretch, rallied two wide entering the final turn, but failed to respond when called upon.
