SURFACE TO AIR went three to four wide on the first turn, tracked the pace on the outside, chased in the four path on the far turn, gained to make a bid at the five-sixteenths pole, battled with two foes in the stretch, fought determinedly between those horses late and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. STORMING CHROME moved from the rail to the two path early on the first turn, was well placed just off the pace, drafted in the three path on the far turn, shifted five wide while roused near the quarter-pole, gained outside to make a bid in upper stretch, battled outside of two opponents to the finish and just missed while narrowly able to get the place. NIGHT EFFECT broke in and brushed with a foe, raced in the four then three path on the first turn, contested the pace on the outside, was asked in the three path on the turn, fought on gamely in the stretch and just missed while clear for the show. STRAPPED bobbled at the start then was taken up in tight between horses, saved ground on the first turn, settled near the back, raced inside for most of the far turn then shifted to the two path, came three wide into the stretch then quickly moved to the six path and improved position. DEBATE went around the first turn in the two path, was urged along on the backstretch, raced inside to the two path on the far turn and failed to rally. ANDY CANT was hustled from the gate, dropped from the two path to the rail early on the first turn, contested the pace, was urged along in the two path on the far turn, dropped back outside the quarter-pole and tired. PRINCIPE D'ORO was brushed at the start then dropped back while in tight between foes, went three to four wide on the turns and was no factor.
