Chart notes

GUARDIAN PRINCE set a pressured pace in the two path and to the inside of NORTHERN CARDINAL, made a bid leaving the turn and quickly drew clear to be clear by the furlong marker, then maintained a safe margin to the wire to prove best under a drive. OUR ETHAN CHARLES tracked the early pace on the inside, shifted out nearing the three eighths marker, advanced four wide by the quarter pole and finished well but could not get to the winner while clearly second best. MAT MATTERS chased the pace four wide, angled in by the five sixteenths and was three wide by the quarter pole, swung out five wide leaving the turn and was up for the show award. NORTHERN CARDINAL pressed the pace three wide and tried the winner at the quarter pole but weakened in the lane. UNCLE GEORGY showed brief speed in between rivals and weakened.
