TRIBAL IMPACT set the pace racing in hand, responded when challenged by SMOOTH PAPA nearing the eighth pole and gradually edged clear late. SMOOTH PAPA prompted TRIBAL IMPACT from along the outside, moved up to offer a bold bid nearing the eighth pole but was unable to stay with that one late in a game effort. SURPRISE FASHION saved ground while being allowed to settle, angled out to be three-wide entering the stretch but was unable to reach the top two in a steady effort. HEY SEQUOIA was reserved off the early pace, came four-wide into the stretch but lacked a rally.
