Chart notes
NAVAL ESCORT saved ground while being unhurried, slipped through during the drive and was up in the final sixteenth to win going away. PETER FLIES saved ground setting the pace under pressure from MISTER MIDAS, drifted out slightly nearing the three-sixteenths pole and held on fairly well for second. CHUCKANUT BAY was reserved off the early pace, moved up three-wide nearing the quarter pole, was four-wide entering the stretch and finished well for third in a steady effort. ITS KRAKEN TIME was allowed to settle in stride, came four-wide into the stretch but lacked a rally. MISTER MIDAS prompted the pace from along the outside to the stretch and weakened. OWHATARUSH settled in the middle of the field, moved up five-wide nearing the quarter pole but was unable to seriously threaten.
