Chart notes
GIANT PAYDAY unhurried, saved ground through the turns, was blocked through the second turn, waited, angled three wide into the stretch, then closed through traffic and drew off late. SEA SPLENDOR unhurried, gained position three wide through the second turn, came four wide into the stretch, then lacked the needed late kick and held the place. JO JO HANS dwelt at the start, moved up three and four wide through the second turn, fanned widest into the stretch, made a steady gain and missed the place. TEMPLET rated on the lead, stayed on when challenged through the second turn, came again in the lane to edged ahead, then weakened late and held a share. MARSAC broke sharply from the gate and stalked the leader on the outside, held position and gained a short lead into the stretch, then weakened the final furlong. EL SOLITARIO mid pack, gained position on the two path through the second turn, then faded into the stretch. J P CORNETTA tracked the pace, raced boxed through the second turn, came through inside of rivals into the stretch and had no rally.
