Chart notes
SELASSIE tracked the pace well back, gained position on the two path through the second turn, bid between rivals into the stretch, made a steady gain, edged ahead at the furlong marker, then drew off under steady pressure. PHOBIA mid pack, gained position three wide through the second turn, bid on that path into the lane, then lacked the needed late kick and held the place. SEA URCHIN sprinted to a clear lead soon after the start, increased his margin down the backstretch, stayed on when challenged into the stretch, then weakened the final furlong and held the show. GRAY MEDALLION unhurried, saved ground through the turns, came through inside of rivals into the stretch and got up for a share. CHAPS KNIGHT passed a tiring rival. BAD AS JOHN well placed and outside, faded through the second turn.
