Chart notes
HISTORYINTHEMAKING broke a step slow, was taken outside soon thereafter, rushed to contention three wide before a quarter, rallied under right handed urging to make the lead three wide at the top of the stretch and prevailed under strong handling. PRIDE AND ATTITUDE never far back, advanced steadily four wide and finished determinedly. SPUNKY ONE trailed into the stretch, swung wide and closed a gap late in the middle of the racetrack. MANDOLIN BREEZE failed to menace. NATIONAL DIAMOND vied for the lead along the rail into the stretch then faded late. WILD MARIAH pressed the early pace three wide and was through after a half. MAYBETHEONE away alertly, set the pace to the top of the stretch then stopped.
