STELLARS IN CHARGE took an instant lead and tapered in while setting a pressured pace, rounded the turn at the rail and was steadily handled to extend. WHITE SERIES gave close chase through the backstretch, raced off the rail on the turn and settled for second best. NORTHERN CARDINAL chased, rounded the turn at the rail then flattened toward mid-stretch. SOUTH OF BIRMINHAM was forced in at the break then gave chase, raced in the four path on the turn and finished well. BROADWAY RED ducked in at the break then saved ground. BAYTOWN ADMIRAL chased through the backstretch, raced in the three path on the turn and weakened in the lane.
