Chart notes

BILLY BOB ROCKET was forwardly placed racing in striking distance of the top pair late on the backstretch, loomed up three wide mid-way around the turn, vied briefly then chased after PURE CRYSTAL in upper stretch, dug in gamely a furlong out, found more in reserve and kicked clear approaching the final sixteenth. PURE CRYSTAL broke on top then conceded position to NAVE, pressed the pace along the inside, edged up and dueled for the lead around the turn, cut the corner and shook free to a slim lead in upper stretch, battled on under firm handling trying to hold off BILLY BOB ROCKET but failed to sustain winners bid approaching the final sixteenth. NAVE took over the lead soon after the start and set a pressured pace, vied outside of PURE CRYSTAL then took on the added challenge of BILLY BOB ROCKET around the turn, weakened off the top pair in the stretch run but stayed on and cleared a share. DAY MONEY raced in contention in opening stages, weakened around the turn, saved ground then shifted three wide and lacked late response. LURCH raced outside in range in early stages, flattened around the turn then faded through the lane. RACE WAS HAND TIMED DUE TO TIMER MALFUNCTION
