Chart notes
DUNCAN IDAHO engaged in close chase through the backstretch, dueled to even terms in the four path approaching the head of the lane, dug in for the lead mid-stretch and was steadily handled to hold on. PORK CHOP PETE chased outside through the backstretch, rounded the turn about the five path, dug in leaving the turn and finished well to take second the final strides. HONEYQUIST was hustled to the front and set a pressured pace from the seven sixteenths pole, was met at even terms entering the stretch, ceded the nod mid-stretch and relented the final sixteenth. DERBY DAY DREAMS chased through the backstretch, steadied approaching the quarter pole, raced off the rail on the turn but was eased out mid-stretch and came back to finish well. NICO gave distant early chase and entered the turn about the three path, was carried outward toward the head of the lane but finished well; widest. PENGUIN POWER chased, rounded the turn off the rail and finished well. EL LUCERITO had a brief early lead then gave chase, raced near the rail on the turn, angled out past the eighth pole and ran evenly in the lane. JEFFERSON NATIVE took a brief lead leaving the chute then pressured the pace from the seven sixteenths pole, raced at a close disadvantage off the rail on the turn but flattened stride the final sixteenth. LITTLE ROO ROO was bumped then pinched back at the break, gave chase through the backstretch, raced in the four path on the turn and flattened in the lane. MARSHALL PEANUT ducked in and made contact with Little Roo Roo then gave chase, raced in the five path on the turn and weakened leaving the turn.
