Chart notes
ACTIVE , fractious in the starting gate, lacked speed, raced inside horses entering the far turn, swung to the six path turning for home, drifted in when taking the lead near the eighth pole and drew off under steady handling. COMPASS RISES trailed to far turn, raced along the inner on the far turn and in upper stretch, altered course to the four path in mid stretch and closed between rivals. MAGIC IN THE PARK stalked the pace between horses down the backstretch and on the far turn, moved to the five path in upper stretch and flattened out. DEAD SEXY stalked the pace near the inner down the backstretch, was under urging near the three eighths pole, eased out to the three path entering the stretch, bumped with DARK POOL near the eighth pole and weakened. DARK POOL saved ground on the turn, advanced in the two path in upper stretch and was jostled on both sides when caught in tight quarters near the eighth pole. INDEPENDENCE WAY set the pace along the inner rail, began to tire in upper stretch, bumped with DARK POOL in mid stretch and gave way. BISCUIT chased the pace while in the two path and gave way. VANA BRIGHT , four wide both turns, weakened. KISS ME MORE stayed along the inner rail on both turns and dropped back. There was a stewards' inquiry concerning the action near the eighth pole but no action was taken.
