Chart notes
SOUTH SIDE stalked the pace while inside on the backstretch, rallied and moved out two wide at the quarter pole making a strong bid, dug in throughout the stretch and held on by a whisker at the wire. DUSTIN THE DIAMOND was settled while racing two wide on the backstretch, was steadied off heels at the quarter pole then rallied an dangled out to be three wide in the stretch, was gaining ground but just missed in the final strides. BOBBY MERLOT pressed the pace while two wide on the backstretch, was in a long drive but weakened in late stretch. THREE GOLD PIECES chased the early pace while three wide on the backstretch, made a bid four wide in upper stretch but was no threat in late stretch. NEPHI set a pressured pace while inside, was in a long drive but gave way in the stretch. MOON TRIP was unhurried early while inside and failed to menace. LOOKIN AT BETTY was settled while three wide on the backstretch then failed to menace in the stretch. DOUBLE ON THE RED chased the early pace while two wide, was used up into the far turn then stopped quickly on the far turn and was pulled up in mid stretch and taken away in the horse equine ambulance. A claim of foul was lodged by the rider of DUSTIN THE DIAMOND against the rider of SOUTH SIDE for interference nearing the quarter pole. After reviewing the film's, the steward's disqualified SOUTH SIDE from first and was placed second for interference.
