Chart notes
GOOD GOVERNANCE (GB) was squeezed back at the start, trailed, rallied inside at the quarter pole, angled to the four path late and was in time under a strong hand ride. FRANZ JOSEF pressed the pace outside of the leader, led late and was caught at the wire. OTAGO stalked the pace inside, bid late between rivals, had a head in front late and was caught. LEADING THE CHARGE stalked the pace between rivals, rallied, shied from a runner at the eighth pole and couldn't close late. LOYAL COMPANY saved ground, angled to the four path at the eighth pole and closed late. INTO THE SUNRISE led inside but couldn't last. UNDERDRESSED stalked between foes, then faded in the stretch. MIDNIGHT WEST was steadied early, stalked the pace in the four path, was steadied at the eighth pole and then had no late bid. PERUVIAN LUCKY raced in the three path with no bid. FAN CLUB was not a factor.
