Chart notes
UNCLE PETE was reserved off the early pace, moved up three-wide nearing the eighth pole, came in slightly to bump with ALZATI nearing the quarter pole and then finished fast to be up in the final strides. KNIGHTLINE saved ground setting the pace, settled into the stretch with a clear lead and just failed to hold off the winner in a game effort. PRINCE OF MEMPHIS saved ground chasing the pace, slipped through during the drive and finished in a mild rally. ALZATI was prominent from the start while two-wide, came out slightly to bump with UNCLE PETE nearing the quarter pole and weakened late. MO MAMBO saved ground while being allowed to settle, came two-wide into the stretch but lacked a rally. JACOB YEN was unhurried early, came five-wide into the stretch and failed to seriously threaten. BUTTONSARENOTTOYS dropped back early, came six-wide into the stretch and failed to menace. THE JOCKEY OF ALZATI LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST UNCLE PETE FOR THE INCIDENT NEAR THE QUARTER POLE AND THE STEWARDS ALSO CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO IT, BUT AFTER VIEWING THE FILMS RULED THERE WAS MUTUAL INTERFERENCE AND MADE NO CHANGE IN THE ORDER OF FINISH.
