QUEEN TAPITURE set the pace on the inside, dueled on the turn, dug in gamely inside in the stretch drive and came up second best. MADE BIRDIE stalked close up three wide, bid between rivals on the turn, could not stay with the top pair, then dug in and got the nod for third.
