Chart notes
KNOPFLER away well and stalked the dueling leaders from along the rail entering the backstretch, launched his bid from along the rail entering the final turn, slipped through at the rail to assume command entering the lane and quickly drew clear. RACING RIVER rushed up along the rail to vie for the lead entering the first turn, set a pressured pace in the run down the backstretch and through the final turn, drifted off the rail entering the lane, and closed determinedly three wide in the drive to hold the place. STANFORD BAY broke sharply and pressed the pace three wide entering the first turn, continued to force the issue three wide in the run down the backside and through the final turn, and continued to battle gamely three out from the rail in the drive to just miss the place. ENGLISH BAY TEDDY stalked the leaders into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, commenced his bid two wide entering the final turn, but needed more when called upon in the lane. AVE'S IN COMMAND away alertly and dueled for the lead from between rivals entering the backstretch, continued to hold his position two wide entering the final turn, was unable to match strides with his pace rivals leaving the turn, and weakened late. COBRA JET stalked the leaders into the first turn while racing two out from the rail, lost position in the run down the backside, saved ground into the final turn, but failed to mount a late bid when called upon. QUAGMIRE unhurried early while dropping back to trail in the run to the first turn, bided his time at the back of the pack in the run down the backside, launched his bid three wide entering the final turn, but failed to make a late impact.
