Chart notes
POPPY'S JOY travelled on the rail in midfield in the first turn, improved entering the backside to track the lead trio while nested on the fence, quickly moved in on the rail at the three furlong marker, shifted outside to bid for the lead at the quarter pole and had another gear with a furlong left to run to repel the late charge and secure the win. SACCHARINE was allowed to settle at the back, trailed for the first part of the route race, began to commence a run, passing rivals three wide on the outside at the seven sixteenths marker, continued to circle around horses three wide on the far turn, loomed a menacing presence outside, five wide at the top of the stretch, could not sustain the run and easily bested the rest for second money. SHAKSHUKA was away alertly to clear to the rail for the lead entering the first turn, kept on going up front unchallenged down the backside, was collared outside by the winner at the quarter pole, offered no resistance but did stay on stubbornly to be a clear third at the wire. PRINCESS JADE had a stalking trip in the rail in the third tier down the backside, started to rally going by rivals at the five sixteenths marker but was one paced in the lane to settle on the fringes in the end. QUEST TO BE PROUD stalked outside a rival in the third flight down the back straight, had no run to give by the three eighths pole, seeing the field on the far turn, slipped up the fence to pass tired horses by the quarter pole but could not get involved in the stretch drive. MCKENZIE ROAD shifted outside from the rail entering the first turn, tracked between rivals down the backside, was urged to go on with foes on either side three furlongs out, had no response and backed away through the turn. SPELLCHECK broke out, was taken a hold off after the start to trail early, took closer order going around rivals five wide on the first turn, tracked the pacesetter three deep on the outside down the backstretch, was asked for more run three furlongs to go, was empty, stopped around the final turn and was not persevered with to the wire.
