Chart notes
KHOZANTHEDESTROYER stalked the pace through early stages, made a three wide move near the quarter pole, dueled outside of OUR HEAVENLY GIFT down the lane, edged ahead past the sixteenth pole and held firm. OUR HEAVENLY GIFT was forwardly placed racing just off the early leader, moved up to challenge for the lead at the quarter pole, quickly took on the outside challenge of KHOZANTHEDESTROYER entering the head of the lane, vied for the lead into the final furlong, fought back from the inside but could not move on with the winner late. IRISH COAST led the way around the first turn and set the pace up the backstretch, took on the challenge of OUR HEAVENLY GIFT at the quarter pole then the added challenge of the eventual winner turning for home, vied in the upper stretch then weakened to show. BIG TAP raced in the back although not far back in the early going, hustled up two wide around the far turn and failed to respond. MISTER LESTER broke on top then remained forwardly placed around the first turn, tracked the pace inside up the backstretch, had no response when called upon entering the far turn, steadily weakened and continued to tire in the drive.
