WORK TO LIVE was forwardly placed away from the start, settled in the second flight and saved ground into the first turn, tracked the decent pace through the backstretch run and maintained an inside position into the far turn, was roused at the quarter marker and taken off of the rail, mounted a three wide bid between rivals into the stretch, loomed at the furlong pole and battled PROOF OF JAZZ into the final sixteenth, surged to take command in deep stretch and held in the final strides for a determined win. PROOF OF JAZZ broke alertly and was sent away from the start, cleared into the first turn and set the pace into the backstretch run, was well handled while setting decent fractions approaching the half-mile, dictated terms into the far turn and was clear at the quarter pole, felt pressure into upper stretch, drifted under firm handling and led to the furlong pole, met the bid of WORK TO LIVE past mid-stretch, was not able to hold off the determined winner in deep stretch and held safely for second at the wire. DERRYGOOLIN prominent away from the start, stalked the early pace from a two wide path into the first turn, stalked the decent pace along the backstretch run and was well placed approaching the half-mile, chased PROOF OF JAZZ into the far turn and went three to four wide nearing the quarter marker, raced widest into the stretch and inched closer at the furlong pole, could not match strides with the top pair into the final sixteenth and was clear for third. ISABEL LUDLOW settled off of the early pace, tracked outside of an inner rival entering the backstretch run and gained ground at the half-mile, maintained a two wide path into the far turn, chased into the stretch and rallied at the furlong marker, could not sustain that run into the final sixteenth and flattened out in deep stretch. MASTERY KAT allowed to settle away from the start, saved ground into the first turn, maintained an inside path through the backstretch run, saved all of the ground into the far turn and did not offer a response in the stretch drive. BOLD DAUGHTER was squeezed leaving the start and was away a bit slowly, was allowed to settle in the early going and trailed into the first turn, unhurried through the backstretch run, was guided three wide into the second turn and did not factor in the stretch drive. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
