Chart notes
RULE THE WAVES broke in to begin, pressed the issue between after the start, opened up impressively while still in hand at the three eighths marker, continued to roll along sharply in upper stretch and was kept to the task to win by a diminishing but comfortable margin in the end. SUMMER BUCK was forced out on the break, co-trailed inside in the beginning, took the short way around in the turn burst between horses finding a seam three wide at the top of the lane and kept on coming in the stretch to nail the runners up share right at the line. BACKONTHECHAINGANG broke out at the start, prompted the pace on the fence in the early going, tracked on the rail throughout the turn, was the only one who could threaten the winner at the top of the lane, ran on his wrong lead to the finish line and was caught right at the wire for second money. HIGHLAND BLUE was squeezed on the break, co-trailed on the outside down the backside, started to rally around foes three wide in midturn, was in the hunt when widest in the five path straightening for home, lugged in through the stretch and finished up on the fence, crossing the wire to be a fringe player. HAPPY QUAD settled all alone in midfield down the backstretch, tracked the pacesetter outside around the bend, was checked mildly losing its path turning for home and could not reach contention through the stretch drive. PRETTY GOOD JOKE seized command at the start, had no response trying to keep up to the winner at the three furlong marker, chased throughout the turn outside but folded in the four path between runners in upper stretch.
