COLONEL BARTON vied for the early lead, saved ground around the turn, drove clear down the lane and was caught late. CREOLE CHARLIE pressed the pace, raced three wide around the turn and proved no match for the top two. DEAL WITH HIM raced within striking distance, saved ground around the turn, made a mild bid and was outfinished for show.
