CHAMPION BY DESIGN raced midpack in early stages, swung four wide into upper stretch, steadily moved up closer while angling in a couple paths, reached the leader at the sixteenth pole and edged away. HULEN raced up close along the inside, sat patiently around the turn, angled out three wide, came under pressure and finished with response. OCEAN RIDE raced off the early pace, hustled along two wide around the turn, sustained a three wide bid into the lane and rallied for a share. BROADWAY PETE was forwardly placed three wide in early stages, vied for the lead around the turn, took over a slim lead in upper stretch, got collared at the sixteenth pole and edged late for show. MISTER SHARPIE raced off the pace, swung four wide into upper stretch and had a mild improve. HERITAGE PARK raced up close in early stages, vied for the lead around the turn, could not match strides past upper stretch and steadily weakened. LOVER BOY held a slim lead in opening stages, vied for the lead around the turn then weakened past upper stretch. LIBERTY'S HAULER raced off the pace, swung five wide into the lane and never threatened. CANDY'S LITTLE TIP saved ground around the turn and failed to move into contention.
