Chart notes
PARENTING grabbed the early lead and set the pace with HERO STATUS to the outside, pressured by rivals on both sides at the nine-sixteenths pole, overtaken by ARROWTHEGREAT past the half-mile pole, dueled into and around the far turn, regained the advantage past the quarter pole, put away inner rival in upper stretch, showed the way clear into the final sixteenth and held off the late run from HERO STATUS in the closing moments. HERO STATUS pressed from outside early, back off to stalk the top pair at the halfway point, bid three deep at the three-eighths pole, could not keep up with the top pair with a quarter mile remaining, three wide in pursuit turning for home, back back on late but could not get by. ARROWTHEGREAT stalked in hand from the fence around the first turn, went up to challenge early on the backstretch, took over past the half-mile pole, dueled around the far turn, gave the lead back to PARENTING past the quarter pole, lost touch with the winner in upper stretch and stayed on from inside for a clear third. ULTIMATE GAMBLE broke a step slow, tracked four wide around the first turn, moved inside a pair of rivals at the halfway point, angled out to the three path around the far turn and came up empty. REDLINE chased two then three wide around the first turn, three then four wide on the second bend and tired.
