Chart notes
KEKOA was nestled on the rail behind the pacesetter, waited for his cue on the rail through the turn, pounced three wide, splitting runners in upper stretch and had more, when asked to draw away in deep stretch. TIERNAN pressed the pace outside in the beginning, moved in two wide to bid outside by the quarter pole, took the lead straightening out for the drive, could not fend off the winner who had an ideal trip late and stubbornly held for the place share in the end. MAGIC POWER tracked the lead two outside along the backside, took closer order by the quarter pole, joined the fray up front in the four path to battle up top straightening out for the stretch battle, determinedly ran to the wire and just missed getting up for the place share. ZONE CONTROL sat alone in midfield down the back straight, started to put in a rally with five sixteenths to go, narrowed the margin shifting to the four path turning for home but was could only finish up one paced to the wire for a minor role. GOLDEN TEST stalked close to the back inside a runner in the early going, saved ground, but made no impact through the turn and finished with energy to close the gaps on rivals down the lane. HUNDRED PERCENT stalked near the rear outside a runner down the backstretch, could not get involved around the bend and failed to menace in the stretch run. AFLEET PRINCE seized the lead down the backstretch, edged away midway on the turn, was collared outside at the quarter pole, offered no resistance, began to shorten stride and stopped at the furlong marker. BAPTIST BILLY broke with the field, checked soon after the break, trailed throughout but did show interest on the fence in deep stretch, finding his best stride late.
