BAKENEKO hopped at the start, rushed up to be well placed outside, gained position two and three wide through the second turn, fanned four wide into the stretch, then made a steady gain, edging up in the final strides and finishing on equal terms with HAIG POINT. JO JO HANS tracked the pace, saved ground through the turns, angled out to bid outside the leader into the stretch, then made a steady gain, edged ahead late and was outfinished. PATRIOT DRIVE well placed and inside, angled out into the second turn, moved up three wide through the turn, came four wide into the stretch, then lacked the needed late kick. SIR TERRE allowed to settle, moved up while angling out through the second turn, fanned widest into the stretch and improved position. CLEAR FOR ACTION sprinted away from the field, held sway unchallenged to the second turn, stayed on, then weakened late. J P CORNETTA mid pack, looped up three and four wide through the second turn, fanned five wide into the stretch and ran evenly. LEGIO passed tiring rivals. SEA SPLENDOR mid pack, moved up on the two path through the second turn, angled in and came through inside of rivals into the stretch, then weakened the final furlong. MARSAC well placed and outside, lost some position on the two path through the second turn, then faded the final furlong. LEAVE 'EM LOADED was never involved. C THE KING was no factor.
