FILM STAR coaxed from the gate, prompted the leader to the outside three wide while under a rating hold, got given a notch and advanced on the turn to take narrow command with five-sixteenths to go, began to shake away and continued three wide into upper stretch, got roused to a drive nearing the eighth pole while drawing clear, then got geared down inside the final sixteenth to the finish. PIONEERING SPIRIT saved ground at the tail of the field early on, came under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, angled out five wide into upper stretch before tipping out an additional path or two at the three-sixteenths, offered up a mild kick never threatening the top one while along well clear of the rest and second best. SWIFTSURE coaxed from the start, showed the way in hand just off the inside under some pressure from FILM STAR latched on to the outside, came under coaxing at the three-eighths under challenge, yielded the front with five-sixteenths to go and swung three to four wide into upper stretch shaken off, then weakened in the final furlong. JOHNY'S FIREBALL coaxed from the gate, chased two to three wide down the backstretch and then three to four wide through the far turn coming under coaxing three furlongs from home, went six to seven wide at the head of the stretch and was eased home to the finish.
