SACRED THUNDER stalked the pace, chased between rivals on the turn, rallied between into the stretch, dueled with the winner and yielded grudgingly. PAY BILLY was off slowly and ducked in, raced off the pace, advanced on the turn and rallied mildly for third. STAYGOLDPONYBOY vied outside for the lead, took over on the turn, dug in to midstretch, then weakened. REDOUBTABLERIPKEN vied inside for the early lead, chased inside on the turn and tired.
