CEREBRO broke sharply and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of SMART LAD in the run down the backstretch, got the better of his pace rival leaving the final turn, drifted three wide in the lane, and held off a stretch long bid by BIG UNION to prevail. BIG UNION stalked the dueling leaders in the run down the backside while racing one out from the rail, rallied three wide entering the final turn, challenged for the lead entering the lane, but was unable to get by a stubborn CEREBRO late in a game effort. PURSUE lagged well off the contested early pace while racing one out from the rail entering the backstretch, began to pick up momentum midway to the final turn, rallied smartly two wide through the turn, and closed three wide in the drive while lacking running room late. NINE ONE ONE away well and was allowed to settle off the dueling leaders while racing one out from the rail in the run down the backstretch, launched his bid four wide entering the final turn, and finished willingly four wide in the drive. PAY MY WAY lagged well off the contested early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the backstretch, commenced his bid from along the inside entering the final turn, and finished willingly from along the rail in the drive. COUNTERACT stalked the leaders in the run down the backstretch while saving ground at the rail, rallied along the inside entering the final turn, but lacked the needed closing response in the lane when called upon. SMART LAD away alertly and dueled for the lead from the outside of CEREBRO in the run down the backstretch, continued to press that rival into the final turn, struggled to keep pace leaving the turn, and weakened in the lane.
