Chart notes
CHROME'S BEST COPY saved ground setting the pace, responded when challenged by SILVER LIGHTENING nearing he eighth pole and gradually drew clear late. SILVER LIGHTENING tracked CHROME'S BEST COPY racing two-wide, moved up to offer a bold bid nearing the eighth pole but was unable to get by the winner while proving to be clearly second best. NORTHERN LINCHPIN was reserved off the pace while racing three-wide, came four-wide into the stretch and finished in a mild rally. PRINCESS PAYTON was unhurried early, came five-wide into the stretch and improved her position. CANDIED JOULE was allowed to settle while racing two-wide but lacked a rally. HARBOR LASS was off a step slow then rushed up along the inside to be close-up on the turn and then tired during the drive.
