Chart notes
LUTHER PASS vied with CALORESE for the lead from along the outside, took the lead nearing the eighth pole and gradually drew clear. CALORESE vied for the lead from along the inside, dropped back slightly nearing the eighth pole then angled out and held on gamely during the drive. AVELLINASA saved ground while being unhurried early, rallied along the inside to the stretch and finished strongly. DRIVE TRAIN was allowed to settle while racing two-wide, came five-wide into the stretch and finished in a mild rally. JULLIAN IN PARIS dropped back early, came two-wide into the stretch and failed to seriously threaten. KNOCKOUT GUY was reserved off the early pace, came four-wide into the stretch and failed to be a factor. EARTHLY TIGER raced in the middle of the field early, swung out to be eight-wide the final quarter mile and failed to menace. WHISKEYONTHEROCKS was five-wide on the first turn then moved in to be forwardly placed while racing three-wide and tired.
