Chart notes
MY BUDDY B led under pressure, repelled repeated challenges and edged away late under steady handling. RECRUITER prompted the winner early, vied to midstretch then weakened slightly while continuing with determination. SPEEDY BOLT broke slowest and lacked speed then gained well for the show. GOLDEN CANDY showed speed inside for half a mile and faltered. ALPINE THUNDER chased off the leaders and lacked a solid rally. PRAETORIAN GUARD trailed early and was never involved. SCARAMOUCHE urged close up early, lost his action and was eased late in the stretch.
