Chart notes
PLEASANT VALIANT trailed into the far turn, circled his field under a hand ride to make the lead in the eight path inside the furlong marker and drew clear in the final stages. LUCKY ANDY unhurried early, rallied four wide into the stretch, drifted to the seven path and finished second best. HAD RIGHT stalked the early pace two wide, rallied three on the far turn to make the lead at the head of the lane then was outfinished. AMERICAN NIGHTMARE checked behind a rival entering the clubhouse turn, moved closer along the inside before a half, had speed into the stretch then came up empty. MASTER away alertly, set the pace along the inside for nearly six and one half furlongs then weakened. MASTER OF WAR pressed the early pace two wide and was through after s half.
