Chart notes

EL TOMATE raced in the three path around the first turn, chased the leader on the outside racing up the backstretch, challenged approaching the half mile pole and led the way from the two path coming around the far bend and then dueled to the wire to edge clear late. MIDNIGHT ROYAL saved ground early, led the way up the backstretch, dropped back to chase the frontrunner headed into the far turn, switched outside to rechallenge passing the three eighths pole, entered the stretch in the three path and dueled to the finish, giving way late. PREPAREDNESS saved ground around the first turn, raced off the pace on the outside up the backstretch, came around the far turn in the three path and made up some ground in the lane. CAPALA raced in the two path around the first turn, tracked the leader between horses up the backstretch, saved ground around the far bend and faded in the stretch. RED'S MR Z raced off the pace on the inside through the opening half mile, continued to save ground around the second turn and made no bid.
