WOODCOCK FLIGHT (IRE) was off mid pack, raced three wide early, was unhurried until after the three eighths, shifted out into the five path in the upper stretch, was asked and responded well closing willingly, gained momentum down the stretch, was encouraged with a left handed crop then hand ridden to the wire edging out the rest of the field getting a hard earned win. TOUGH LITTLE NUT raced off of the pace, raced on the rail, saved ground, launched a bid at the half mile pole, stayed to the inside, was able to cut the corner and enter the upper stretch with improved position, passed a set of rivals on the inside while closing in on the leader, needed racing room for a few strides, got out into the three path, was surrounded by competitors to the outside, split horsed late, kept closing, threatening for the win, then just missed running second to an outside avenger. BONS TEMPS ROULE was off slow, settled in hands, raced in the two path, improved position in the turn and in the upper stretch, moved in between foes, battled, was game but just missed. ALL CHOKED UP vied for the lead, raced on the rail, was challenged, went head to head down the stretch then faded. IRIS'S DREAM raced five wide and off of the pace, moved at the three eighths pole, shifted into the ten path after entering the upper stretch, was encouraged and responded well, closing willingly, but to no avail. GREAT COOLNESS tracked the pace setter from the two path, challenged for the lead in the upper stretch, battled in the stretch nearing the wire but did not have enough. NEW YEAR SURPRISE stalked the front runner, pressured the pace, challenged for the lead at the three eighths pole, went head to head before faded in the stretch.
