Chart notes
SERENDIP RULER was on the lead outside CAPTAIN DON throughout then kept that one safe through the lane. CAPTAIN DON forced the pace inside the winner throughout and closed closed but could not get by. OPTIMAL stalked the leaders three and four wide and closed through the lane but was too late. ROCK N JUNE BUG saved ground and rallied through the lane late. TAKING ENERGY was four and five wide nearing the lane and failed to offer a bid. DAVE was with the leaders three or four wide to upper stretch and weakened. IMPOVERISHED was not a factor racing three wide.
