Chart notes
NINE ONE ONE disputed the pace set by POVERTY BAY, came in slightly in deep stretch for bump with that one and prevailed narrowly. FOLLOWING A STEWARD INQUIRY AND A JOCKEY OBJECTION FROM PROVER BAY, NINE ONE ONE WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM FIRST AND PLACED SECOND. POVERTY BAY saved ground setting the pressure pace, responded when asked then was bumped late by NINE ONE ONE and just missed then was awarded the win via disqualification. WHISKEYJACK saved ground while being reserved off the pace, came three-wide into the stretch then drifted in slightly before angling back out nearing the sixteenth pole and closed strongly. FIREWALKER was unhurried early, came three-wide into the stretch, angled out to be five-wide at the eighth pole and finished in a mild rally. NAVAL ESCORT dropped back early, came three-wide into the stretch, swung out to be six-wide at the eighth pole and rallied late. IT'S TURBO was allowed to settle while two-wide, came four-wide into the stretch and lacked a rally.
