Chart notes
GRAND SONATA laid off of the pace two wide, remained unhurried saving ground around the far turn, cut the corner while advancing into the lane, sustained progress to bid in upper stretch, dueled with an outer rival in the final furlong and held gamely. HIGHWAY ROBBER trailed down the backstretch, moved out of last two wide and between horses around the far turn, encountered brief traffic entering teh lane in the four path, tipped in to gain three wide and between horses at the quarter pole, bid at the furlong grounds, dueled with an inner rival through the late stages but was denied. TAWNY PORT tracked in the three path, chased between horses turning for home, floated five wide at the quarter pole then ran on willingly but needed more. INTEGRATION pursued from midpack along the inside, shifted four wide to take aim between horses at the quarter pole, but lacked a bid. ANGLOPHILE lacked speed two to three wide, took the far turn in the four path before fanning to the seven path nearing the lane, but failed to theaten. CATHKIN PEAK (IRE) tracked along the inside, tipped out to bid outside of the leader and in the four path nearing the lane, led briefly coming to the quarter pole, but was outkicked between horses in upper stretch and gave way. GET SMOKIN showed the way in the two path, built a loose margin down the backstretch, met an outer challenge while drifting to the three path nearing the lane, then weakened between horses leaving the quarter pole. KING CURLIN broke slowly, raced at the rear three to four wide and got outrun. BALLADEER pressed the leader from the three path, failed to sustain pressure down the backstretch, then weakened between horses while getting floated to the six path reaching the head of the lane.
