Chart notes
FOR THE CHIEF stalked the pace, traveled in the two path, launched a bid at the half mile marker, improved position, moved up behind the leaders before the quarter pole, smartly waited and the hole appeared, followed FLY ERIK FLY through the traffic, made the bend, was able to move down to the rail, had to battle with two on the outside, fought for the space on the rail, was bumped several time, hit back and kept coming, never gave in to intimidation, never gave up and didn't stop until he had the win. Ran a super game race. FLY ERIK FLY vied for the lead, raced in between rivals, helped set the pace, got to the lead and was in charge for a sixteenth, shook the first two rivals, gained too more entering the upper stretch, was still battling in the middle, bumped the one on the rail, outlasted the one on the outside, was bumped back and just missed. BEACH GOLD was off and racing mid pack, worked in the three path, launched a bid at the three eighths pole, circled the field running five wide,, moved into contention in the upper stretch, battled down the lane but could not get ahead of the first two, but did out finish the rest. NEVER SAY NEVER vied for the lead, raced in the two path, led, with two others then backed out nearing the quarter pole. CRUISING was off a step slow, trailed early then made a mild gain late. MYSTIC LUTE raced off of the pace and never posed a threat. VALUED CAJUN vied for the lead, helped lead from the four path, then stopped at the five sixteenth pole.
