JOE WEST Well placed along the three path, appeared to wait nearing the quarter pole, angled out, responded, rallied to take the lead and was going away. CALL IT A NIGHT Unhurried four wide into the turn, responded outside and rallied. PAINTING STONES Slammed at the start by SHAKIN THE BELLE, four wide bid, challenged three across at the top of the lane. SHAKIN THE BELLE Ducked out slamming PAINTING STONES at the start, unhurried, three path on the turn and closed a gap late. NOT MY TYPE Vied for the lead along the rail, was bumped by PAINTING STONES at the furlong marker, checked and weakened. SARATOGA WEEKEND Ducked in forcing FINDANAME into PAINTING STONES at the start, checked at the three-eighth pole, four wide around and failed to threaten. HAL AWAY Vied for the lead along the two path to the lane and tired. MONTAUK SURF Saved ground and tired. FINDANAME Forced in at the start bumping with PAINTING STONES and then was outrun. A claim foul was lodged by the rider of NOT MY TYPE against PAINTING STONES for interference at the furlong marker, resulted in the disqualification of PAINTING STONES from third to fifth. Also a stewards inquiry was posted concerning the stretch run.
