Chart notes
TOM'S SPIRIT race in the three path along the first turn and set the early pace, was headed near the five sixteenths pole while under a full drive, raced near the rail into the lane, came back while under a long drive and cleared the field in the final stages. FUTURE VICTORY raced in the four path along the first turn, pressed the pace two wide down the backstretch, headed foe near the five sixteenths pole, was in the three path into the lane, weakened near the eighth pole but came back for place at the wire. MOON CHARGER raced in the two path along the first turn, chased the pace down the backstretch, was near the rail into the lane, made a bid up the inside down the lane, was steadied a bit and lost place at the wire. OVERHAUL raced in the four path along the first turn, stalked the pace early on, was in the four path into the lane and flattened out late in the stretch run. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN INVOLVING TOM'S SPIRIT AND MOON CHARGER AND AFTER REVIEW TOM'S SPIRIT WAS DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED THIRD FOR INTERFERING WITH MOON CHARGER INSIDE THE SIXTEENTH POLE.
