COUNTERACT broke sharply and raced to the lead from along the rail entering the lane the first time, dictated the pace in the run down the backstretch, continued to save ground while leading into the final turn, drifted off the rail entering the stretch and battled gamely through the lane to just miss. GUNFIGHTER unhurried early while trailing the field through the stretch the first time, began to advance from along the rail midway down the backstretch, rallied smartly from along the inside entering the final turn, shifted off the rail leaving the turn, was hung five wide in the drive and closed determinedly while gaining late. PAY MY WAY away well and stalked the leaders from along the rail entering the stretch the first time, tipped three wide midway down the backstretch to take up the chase, rallied three wide entering the final turn, and finished with late interest six wide in the drive. TIME TICKER stalked the leaders three wide entering the stretch the first time, dropped back to trail in the run down the backstretch, and failed to mount a late bid when called upon. Following the running of this race there was a jockey's claim of foul. The rider of TIME TICKER, lodged a claim of foul against the rider of PAY MY WAY for alleged interference midway down the backstretch. After review the claim of foul was disallowed, and no change was made to the original order of finish.
