Chart notes
SMARTY NOSE stalked five deep into the turn, took aim three wide entering the lane, took over in upper stretch, maintained a short lead into deep stretch and held on in the closing moments. SLEW'S JOY showed early speed speed then dropped back a bit to chase, went three deep into the turn, moved into the two path around the bend, tipped out in upper stretch, came with a late bid but could not get by. SGT POWELL dueled briefly then pressed from outside, led leaving the turn, lost command in upper stretch, stayed on to the sixteenth pole and yielded late. JERRY JEFF WALKER stalked four deep into the turn, rounded the bend three then four wide, drifted in from the three-sixteenths pole to the sixteenths pole and could not produced a bid. DR. TROUTMAN chased briefly then was sent for the lead, set a pressured pace into the turn, overtaken leaving the bend and weakened in the drive. PAUL VINCENTS POEM chased along the rail inside rivals, got put in tight from the seven-sixteenths pole to the three-eighths pole, moved off the fence in the lane and weakened. ABADON chased between rivals, rounded the bend in the two path, swung out approaching the stretch and weakened. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
