Chart notes
SUPER JOHN quickly moved clear, widened before the half, repelled a challenge near the quarter pole, drew away again and lasted. SAINT MARCO lacked speed, advanced wide on the final turn then drifted out gaining late. LONG GRAY LINE trailed for half mile, rallied into the stretch, angled in late and continued well. LEADER OF MEN dropped far behind, split rivals into the stretch then flattened out. SHANGHAI SUPERFLY went after the winner on the final turn then weakened in the stretch. GRAND PICK saved ground in midpack and failed to rally. MEGA CHARLIE chased three wide, bid briefly closer near the quarter pole then faded. FEDERAL CASE broke alertly then dropped back and was never in contention. SEMPER FIDELIS flashed speed then stopped abruptly losing contact with his field. A claim of foul by the third finisher against the second finisher for interference in the stretch was dismissed.
