Chart notes
HE SHOOTS HE WINS was away quickly to take command inside at the five furlong pole, freewheeled while unchallenged up top around the turn, opened up smartly on the field at the top of the lane and under mild urging improved the margin of victory when crossing the finish line. SPEEDY PAL broke sharp for the lead at the start, then was relegated to a chasing role down the backside outside, continued to go after the front running winner but made no advance through the turn and finished up well enough to still best the rest comfortably for the second money at the finish. PRINCE SUSSEX stalked in the third tier three wide with runners on both sides down the backstretch, began to pick up the bit three wide by the quarter pole, shifted out six wide with run at the top of the stretch, finished up on the wrong lead to the wire but still fought on gamely to garner third place. COMMANDER AT SEA was unhurried to trail in the early stages, angled out six wide straightening out for home and with a late burst in the final seventy yards got up to settle on the fringes in the end. ROCK IT RED stalked in the third flight on the inside, kept pace with the leaders throughout the turn, was in the mix three wide for the runners up share turning for home but was one paced late and got caught for a minor placing right at the finish line. HARPER CITY was situated on the rail near the rear, saved ground but made no impact on the turn and failed to fire in the drive to the wire. FAST AND READY had a stalking position ahead of one runner down the back straight, made no advance when hard ridden with five sixteenths to go, shifted out seven wide at the top of the lane but could not get involved in the stretch running. IF YOU INSIST was fractious in the stall prior to the start, settled five deep outside foes close to the back of the pack down the backside, rallied four wide around rivals three eighths from the finish line, angled out five wide for the drive, could not sustain the rally and gave way by mid-stretch. IMPERIAL STAR pulled the rider along the backstretch to sit just behind the winner in the early going, was roused for more on the fence at the quarter pole but offered little response and backed away inside at the furlong pole.
