Chart notes
GOES THE CLOWN rated up close inside, advanced inside down the backstretch, angled into the three path nearing the far turn, made steady progress around the bend, reached even terms turning for home, dueled outside of BEACH GOLD to deep stretch and forged ahead late. BEACH GOLD set the pace in the two path, dug in gamely inside of the winner through most of the stretch but was outfinished late. FLY ERIK FLY was strung out five wide around the first turn, remained off the pace while going just two wide around the far turn and churned on for the show. SON OF A SLEW bumped at the start, saved ground and never threatened. ARTEMPUS was outrun inside. SUNDAY SONG prompted the pace in the four path and retreated after a half. OPERATNTHUNDERBOLT bumped at the start, pressed the pace in the three path and retreated around the far turn.
